  • How long does it take to install timber flooring?

On average it takes around 5–10 days to install timber flooring. However, solid timber flooring needs 7 days to acclimate to its environment and engineered wood flooring needs 5 days. In total from preparation to final polish you can expect your flooring to take between 10–15 days. Our team will always do our best to work to your time requirements to ensure your project is delivered efficiently.

  • How often should I sand and re-polish my floors?

Sanding and repolishing your floors is a great way to prolong their life. Since there isn't a ‘one-size-fits-all' approach, we recommend looking at the state of your flooring to determine if it's time for a resurface. If there are minor scratches and it has lost its shine, a gentle sand and new coat will work wonders. Floorboards showing signs of water damage or sagging a resurface may need to be replaced. Generally speaking, you should aim to refinish your floors every 10–15 years.

  • What is the lifespan of a timber floor coating?

Typically, polyurethane coated timber floors will last between 5 and 10 years before they require a recoat. With the correct finish and maintenance your timber floors can last you anywhere from 30 to 100 years! Our team is here to help you maintain the integrity of your flooring.

  • How long does it take for polyurethane coated floors to dry?

A water-based polyurethane coating will take between 4–6 hours to dry. We recommend waiting 6–24 hours before you walk on the floors.
